Wow, I can't believe it's mid-October, and we've already had our first snowfall here in NJ! My daughter commented how pretty the snow looked with the colorful leaves although not many of our trees have changed yet. Time sure flies by!
Stampin'Up! has unveiled a beautiful new Idea Book and Catalog as well as a new Holdiday Mini Catalog which you can view by clicking on the links in the sidebar. Both contain great new stamp sets, accessories and products.
My favorite product in the holiday mini is "My Digital Studio (MDS)," the new paper crafting program which will enable users to create photo albums, calendars, greeting cards and even multi-media projects right on your home computer. You can use the option to send your project off to our high-quality print facility, or print directly on your home printer.
The program uses the same exclusive Stampin'Up! colors, stamp images, embellishments, and background papers you've come to love, so you can even create hybrid projects by printing out your project and adding embellishments to it....or use your computer generated piece as a focal point for your hand-made card. Coming up on Tuesday, October 27th, at 10 am or 7 pm, is a Tons of Techniques class. We usually make 3 projects that incorporate a number of fun techniques. Class fee: $15This card uses a technique, which we will learn at the 10/27 class, that makes the image look like a sepia photo. It was inspired by cards made by Diana Gibbs and Jan Tink. This card uses the set called "Serene Snowflakes from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I totally cased (copy and steal everything) this card from Connie Babbert's blog. It's such a great simple card. It may be hard to see, but there is a dot of Crystal Effects sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter in the centers of each snowflake and the tips of the largest snowflake. The circles were sponged from stencils made with our circle punches after the snowflakes were stamped, making it easier to place a circle directly in the center of the largest snowflake. This is one of the cards we'll make in the Holiday Cards class.
